Ymere - glass facade

For a housing block at IJburg (Amsterdam) I was asked to 'provide visibility' for a glass facade of 12 x 6 meters, which separates the communal garden from the street. The facade consists of more than 20 windows, including the main entrance to the building.

Together with glass studio Van Tetterode I transferred the design onto the glass, after which it was be sand-blasted.

Facade seen from the inside outwards, at night.

Facade seen from the outside inwards, by day.

We interpreted my original computer-drawing by setting up a pattern of lines with tape.
