Dutch Design Awards Finalist

The silk screened posters I've made to announce the Schrank8 exhibitions were selected as finalist for the Dutch Design Awards in the category Best Graphic Design.
From the jury report: "The posters for the bimonthly changing cabinet exhibitions at the designer’s home balance on the borderline between autonomous and communication design. The research in this border area results in stunning posters and is the innovation-oriented drive in the professional field."

The posters are in good company with Rop van Mierlo - Niels Schumm/Anuschka Blommers & Experimental Jetset - Jop van Bennekom - Floor Wesseling - Michiel Schuurman - Lernert & Sander as other finalists.

Uit de schaduw - Nederlands Genootschap van Bibliofielen

Together with Chang Chi Lan-Ying and Uitgeverij De Buitenkant we've been working on a book for the Dutch Organization of Bibliophiles to celebrate their 20th anniversary. For the bibliophiles of course only the best of the best was good enough. Full colour interior with, black and silver endpaper, 2 bookmarkers and a cloth bound cover with foil print.

It's quite extraordinary to get to design a 4 colour foil print for the cover (back, front and spine), which is 10 print runs in total...

Specifications
Size: 17x24 cm, 432 pages, full colour, cloth bound, 4 colours foil print
Type setting: Chang Chi Lan-Ying / Photography: Rebke Klokke

Museum De Lakenhal - identity

For the past months we've been working on the identity for Museum De Lakenhal in Leiden. The first exhibition under the new identity opens March 19th. The invite we've designed is an all-in-one enveloppe which folds out to a letter which folds out to a mini-poster.

Schrank8 - Posters

For over a year I've been running a home gallery in my livingroom called Schrank8. These are the posters I've designed and silk screened to promote the exhibitions. I've made the posters into a typographic playfield. I like use the silk screen to print on textured materials.

Schrank8 #6 - Pinar & Viola - Fluor pink and purple on pearl crocodile paper

Schrank8 #5 - Johann Kauth - Black and white on silver

Schrank8 #4 - Miek Zwamborn - Mint green on mos green metallic paper

Schrank8 #4 - Michiel Schuurman - Purple with transparant crocodile texture on card board

Schrank8 #2 - Job Wouters - White on textured black paper

Schrank8 #1 - Bart de Baets - Type face Marker Dots, printed black and white on blue paper.

Thanks to Michiel Schuurman who introduced me to silk screening at Amsterdams Grafisch Atelier.
